Your information, explained plainly

Privacy Notice

Last updated: 20 October 2026. This notice explains what happens to information when you use PrintProfit, create an account, choose Pro or choose optional analytics.

In short: You can use the calculator without an account. Saved projects and uploaded 3D model files stay in your browser unless you choose account sync. With your consent, printer and material profiles plus saved project settings and slicer-analysis details sync through Firebase. Uploaded model file contents stay on the device where you added them. Existing profiles and Projects on a browser remain separate until you choose whether to import them. Optional Google Analytics stays off unless you choose “Accept analytics”.

4. Where information is stored and who provides services

PrintProfit's public website is hosted by GitHub Pages. GitHub says that visitor IP addresses are logged for security. Google Firebase provides sign-in and optional cloud sync. The Firestore database for this project is in London, United Kingdom (europe-west2). Firebase Authentication processes authentication information in the United States. Stripe processes optional Pro subscription payments and invoices under its own privacy information. Google Analytics is used only after your consent.

Google acts under its Firebase data-processing terms for Firebase services. Google states that Firebase Authentication keeps logged IP addresses for a few weeks and removes other authentication information from live and backup systems within 180 days after the account is deleted. For a UK transfer, Google's data-processing terms identify the transfer safeguards it uses; see the Firebase Data Processing and Security Terms and Google's Firebase privacy and security information.

GitHub and Google may process information in other countries under their own service and privacy terms. GitHub's Privacy Statement and Google's Privacy Policy explain their handling. We do not control their independent security logs.

5. How long information is kept

6. Your choices and rights

You can use PrintProfit without an account, reject optional analytics, and change your analytics choice later using the “Analytics settings” control. You can view and edit profiles and Projects in My Workspace, sign out, and delete your account and synced profiles and project records from the account panel. When a browser has local profiles or Projects, choose “Import profiles & projects” only for data that belongs to you; “Keep them on this device” leaves them out of cloud sync. Account deletion also clears the account's sync cache on the device where you delete it. It cannot remotely erase browser copies or uploaded model files on other devices; clear PrintProfit's site data on each device you used.

Depending on your circumstances, UK data-protection law may give you rights to access or correct information, request erasure or restriction, object to processing, receive a portable copy, or withdraw consent. Email Printprofit26@outlook.com and describe your request. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

7. Cookies and browser storage

The calculator uses browser storage to remember local settings, saved Projects and profiles. This storage is needed for features you choose to use and remains on your device. If you accept analytics, Google Analytics may set its own cookies, including cookies beginning with _ga. The website configures the main Analytics cookie to expire after about two months. Your analytics choice is stored in this browser so we can remember it. A separate, per-account choice about importing local printer/material profiles and Projects is also stored in this browser. You can reject analytics without losing calculator or account features.

8. Security

Account sync is limited by Firebase security rules to the verified account owner and requires acceptance of the current Terms and Privacy Notice, including consent for profile and project sync. The website uses HTTPS. No online service can promise absolute security, so use a unique password, keep your email account secure, and sign out on shared devices. Report a suspected account or privacy problem to Printprofit26@outlook.com.

9. Changes to this notice

If the way information is used changes, this notice will be updated and the date above will change. If a change affects account sync terms, the site may ask you to review and accept the updated terms before syncing again.
